Have the correct size shoes

This may sound obvious, but it is one which people skim over. Many think that once they reach adulthood their shoe size stops and that is their size for all types of shoes. However, depending on the brand, this can often change from around ½ size to a full size either way. Therefore, make sure the shoe is the correct size for you to ensure they are a perfect fit.

Break them in slowly

If you break them in slowly, it will help in the long run. Many think it is a good idea to break them in for a long period of time. Whereas this is not the best option, but it is better to wear them in short spells, which will help make the pain more bearable for your feet.

Wear some chunky socks

Thick socks can be a lifesaver and help reduce the rubbing of your feet on the shoe. It can also help with the prevention of blisters, and the comfort of your feet in the first few times of wearing them. If you do not have any thick socks, then doubling them up is just as good!

Walk around the house

It can be useful to walk around the house with your new shoes on. As you will be in the comfort of your own home, if they start to hurt, they can be taken off at any point. – Which is a big benefit!

Plaster up

If you know you are prone to getting blisters in one area, then why not protect them before they even appear? Put blister plasters on the areas which tend to rub, this helps protect your feet before any injuries emerge – Hopefully!
