Clean your waterproof clothing without washing away its performance.

Nikwax Tech Wash is a specialist cleaner designed for waterproof, windproof and technical outdoor clothing. Unlike ordinary laundry detergents, it cleans without leaving behind water-attracting residues that can interfere with breathability and cause the outer fabric to absorb rain.

Dirt, body oils and detergent residue can mask a garment’s Durable Water Repellency—or DWR—leaving it feeling heavy, cold and clammy in wet weather. Tech Wash removes these contaminants and can revive the existing water-repellent finish, helping rain bead on the surface while allowing perspiration to escape.

Recommended for Gore‑Tex®, Windstopper®, Nikwax Analogy® and other waterproof, windproof and fleece clothing, it can also be used on synthetic sleeping bags. The water-based formula is non-flammable and PFAS-free.

How to use in a washing machine:

1. Check the garment’s care label before washing.

2. Clean the detergent drawer thoroughly to remove any detergent or fabric-conditioner residue.

3. Place no more than two garments in the washing machine.

4. Shake the bottle and add the quantity shown on the label, allowing for garment number and local water hardness.

5. Wash using the cycle and temperature recommended on the garment’s care label.

6. Air dry, or tumble dry on a low setting only when the care label permits.

Do not use conventional detergent or fabric conditioner. If the garment still absorbs water after cleaning, reproof it with Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In or TX.Direct Spray-On. Always use Tech Wash first so the waterproofing treatment can work effectively.
